Brown Eyed Blues – FINAL

Brown Eyed Blues

By: Chelsea Lynn Banaria

Jazz Nguyen was at Lindy Pham’s house, giving her a makeover. “Hm… You look like a monster, and I’m sorry to call you my friend.” Lindy looked at Jazz with puppy dog eyes.
Jazz made a straight face and said, “Hey Lindy. Haha, I’m just kidding! I promise.”
Jazz grabbed her hand, led her to her
2009 C6 ZR1 Chevrolet Corvette, and they were off to the Stoneridge mall. When they arrived, they were both eager to go into the famous makeup store, “MAC”. When they arrived at the store, they both argued about what makeup to buy.

“I said get this one!”
“No!”
“Why not?!”
“It doesn’t look… Like me! You know what I mean?”
“No! It does look like you stupid head. By the way, I should get to pick whatever makeup you want to use, since I’m doing your makeup loser!”
Lindy looked at Jazz sharply and said, “You have a point. Dammit, shoot. Go pick it.”
Jazz looked happy and quickly bought all the makeup. As soon as they were finished, they headed home.
“Hey Jazz, how come I never went to your house before?” Jazz got all quiet and replied, “I really don’t know Lindy.”

The car ride home to Jazz’s house was quiet. When they got out the car, Lindy’s eyes became wide.
“Oh… My… God… Your house Jazz. It’s so freaking HUGE.” Lindy’s eyes got wider by the second and her smile widened more and more.
Jazz looked at Lindy as if she’s never seen such a big house before.
“Lindy.. Are you okay? You look kind of… Mental right now.”
Lindy cocked her eye to Jazz and said, “I just didn’t know your house was this big! I knew it was big.. But just… Not like this!”
Before Jazz could answer, she ran into the house as fast as she could. Next thing you know, Lindy looked down from the bathroom balcony and said, “Jazz, are you coming or what?!”
Jazz smiled up at Lindy and said, “Yeah, I’ll be right up.”
Jazz then ran into the house and ran up the stairs. When she got to the foot of her bedroom door, she saw Lindy standing in front of it with her mouth open.
“Is this your parents room?” asked Lindy.
“No, it’s not. It WAS their room. They wanted to keep my old room because I had more things that needed storage, more then they did.”
Lindy then gasped in shock. “Oh my gosh! My parents would never let me have a room this big! Hurry up! Let’s go in!”
Lindy grabbed Jazz by her hand and led her into her own room. Inside, the walls were white as a Japanese Cherry Blossom. The room was decorated with an Urban and Modern touch to it. Her bed was about a king or queen size, as her bed sheets were Zebra printed. When they went to her “bathroom”, it looked more like the size of a salon!
“Is this where we’re going to fix my makeup?” asked Lindy.
“Yeah, it is actually. Sit down, so I can get an early start on you.”
Lindy sat down and Jazz worked on her hair and makeup for about… 5 hours or so? Anyway, when she was finished, Jazz felt really accomplished with what she did.
“Lindy, I think your gonna like it.”
“For real?” Lindy smiled.
“Yeah.”

Then Jazz whirled Lindy so she’s facing in front of the mirror, like they did to Amelia in Princess Diaries.
“Oh shoot!” Lindy started to exaggerate like she just saw Kid Rainen in person.
“I don’t even freaking recognize myself anymore! Thanks so much. Oh shoot, I can’t wait ’till we go back to Central High this year.”
Jazz smiled and said, “Yeah. Me neither. Go get a good night rest so we can fix you up tomorrow. Your sleeping over at my house until I know I can trust you enough to do your own makeup and everything. Alright?”
Lindy nodded while grinning and replied, “Alright, I’ll call my parents.”
Lindy ran our the room and called her parents to drop off everything at Jazz’s house.

The next day, back at Central High, Jazz and Lindy first went to the office to go pick up their schedule’s for the year. Oh and before I forget, Jazz is a Senior and Lindy is a Junior. Anyway, when they went into the office, they see a really cute guy. About 6′0 tall, Filipino (yeah, he is), pretty good fit, and a cute smile.
“Here’s your schedule for the year. And before I forget, welcome to Central High!”
The Secretary gave him a pearly white smile and said, “Next!”
Jazz and Lindy were to distracted by his charm, they forgot she even said anything.
“I SAID NEXT PLEASE!”
Jazz and Lindy were then shocked and moved forward to the woman. They got their schedules and left the office. They had no clue, whatsoever to where their classes were, because of the busy summer. It kept them occupied and they forgot everything that went where it was suppose to be at school. They also hoped that someone would help them figure out where their classes are.
“Uh, hey. I’m Jay, and uh. I’m suppose to be helping you guys right now to your class, or classes. Haha, depending how well you remember the school.”
Jazz and Lindy giggled and smiled at Jay.
“Yeah, I’m Jazz and that’s Lindy. Nice to meet you Jay!”
“Yeah, nice to meet you too.”
They shook hands and started discussing where their classes are suppose to be.
“P-4 is up there and-… Uh, Jazz? Are you alright?”

“Huh? Oh yeah, sorry. I was looking at your hat. It’s cute.”

“Oh haha. Silly old Kid Robot. She grabs everyone’s attention before they look at my face. Anyway, hey. Lindy, I think you got it. I guess I’ll see you at lunch?”

“Sure. Thanks,” Lindy said to Jay.

“No problem” answered Jay.

Jay started liking Lindy just because the way she acted and how she was towards him. They got to know each other more and they liked each other. Jay asked Lindy to be his girlfriend after the first couple of weeks knowing her and she said yes. They go out with each other for a while, then he starts to get to know Jazz. He thought she was pretty cute and went to go know her more and more everyday. When he did, he started liking her personality more than Lindy’s. He thought Jazz was more energetic like him so he started having feelings for Jazz. As he got to know her more, he realized that Jazz was the one for him. Jazz had feelings for Jay but no one knew about it because she kept a secret about it. The only place that she expressed her feelings was in her diary where only she could see. One day, it accidentally got into the hands of the jealous Lindy. Lindy found it, so she read all the entries Jazz wrote about how much she liked Jay. Lindy got super jealous and threatened Jazz that she will ruin her reputation at school until she graduates high school. Jazz was so scared. Lindy talks to Jay about it, to see if it’s true. Jay acts like what Jazz is saying is silly but deep down inside he really does care about Jazz. He could not take it anymore because he realized that he needs to be with Jazz so he broke it off with Lindy. After all that happened, he went to talk to Jazz about how he felt about her. He was scared because he thought that Jazz did not have any feelings for him but she did.

Jay asked her, “Jazz, would you be my girlfriend?”

Jazz replied, “Of course I will Jay.”

When Lindy found out that they started dating she went ballistic. She was so angry. Lindy starts screaming at school.

Lindy yells, “WHY?! WHY?!”

Lindy finds out and tries to ruin their perfect relationship and school reputation. Lindy tries everything but nothing won’t work because they are still together strong as ever. Finally, they finished high school and Lindy is still trying to wreck their relationship Jazz and Jay have together.

Although, Lindy tries to break them apart Jazz and Jay decide to get married after a few years they just graduated. After they just got married, they heard that their long time enemy from high school Lindy was found killed last night. They were both shocked. All though they did not get along with Lindy, they questioned, “Who would do such a thing?”

Jazz and Jay both went the Grand Canyon to check up on some rocks and stuff since that was there thing to do on weekends. When they got down there, they saw a body but they did not know whose body it was. When they went to check up on the body, it was Lindy’s. When they found her body her eyes were wide open. Jazz and Jay guessed that she died with her eyes open, sadly. Jazz went to look at Lindy’s eyes real fast and when she did she thought she saw Lindy’s eye roll. But Jay said she is just hallucinating. She said, “Yeah, you’re right. She’s gone; her eyes can not be rolling around like she is alive.”

They went back home to relax after the hectic day they had. That night, Jazz had a dream. The dream was about her killing Lindy. She realizes that she was the one that killed Lindy but she had told no one and there was no evidence found when she pushed Lindy off. When she woke up she thought that it could not be true. Later on days has passed and she has been getting the worse luck of all. She was thinking, “Karma is getting back to me, Lindy is getting me, my husband Jay, and my family. What should I do?”

After hours and hours of thinking she narrowed it down to two choices. It was either Jazz killed herself and be done with everything or live her life like nothing happened and let Lindy haunt her and her family whenever she feels like it. She decided to live a couple of more years because she wanted to finish up her degree and become a doctor with her husband Jay. During those years she was in college, she had some bad feelings because she thought Lindy was going to haunt her and her family because of her temper back in high school. But when she went to school for all those years to finish up and becoming a doctor she did not have anyone come haunt her. She graduated from collage and is officially a doctor with Jay.

They open up this small hospital in the corner of their neighborhood; just in case someone is injured they can help them. When they first opened, Jazz had some trouble with the hospital since she was running it alone. Jay was busy that day to be there on the opening day of the hospital. Ever since that day of bad luck with the opening of the hospital, Jazz had memories of her killing Lindy by pushing her off the Grand Canyon.

Jazz had so much guilt every time she went to work and home. She felt like Lindy was haunting her but it was just all in her head. Jazz could not take it anymore so Jazz decided to kill herself because she felt that she was too guilty of Lindy’s death. Jazz thought to herself before she killed herself, “Without all these guilt trips, making me go insane, now I know I am going to be happier without all the guiltiness I had for all these couple of years.”

She killed herself the next day. Jay found her lying there dead with the knife in her hand. He was sad and disappointed because they have been lovers ever since high school and knowing that his high school lover died he was not happy anymore. He shut down the hospitals and companies he had. He took a knife and killed himself too just so he can be with Jazz. That’s how much Jay loved Jazz because he killed himself to be with her even though he secretly knew that Jazz killed Lindy but did not tell anyone at all either. He just kept everything a secret because he knew that if he brought up the Lindy death, Jazz and him would just argue the whole time.

Sadly, the next morning, Jazz and Jay’s kids, Roman and Amour walked in the room, looking at their parents DEAD. Not knowing about 911 (Roman was 4 and Amour was 3), they called their Uncle Jerrick. “Uncle Jerrick! Mommy and Daddy!” They screamed on the phone.

“What about your Mommy and Daddy?”

“They no breathe!”

Knowing Uncle Jerrick, he understood the kids perfectly. Silent he was on the phone, and he hung up. As for Roman and Amour, they left their parents room, and cried while waiting for their Uncle Jerrick to come over.

“Kids! I’m here! Where’s Mommy and Daddy?”

They led Uncle Jerrick upstairs to their parents room. Uncle Jerrick, as sad as he was said, “Oh my God… Jazz… Jay…” He suddenly remembered to call 911 and he heard the police and ambulance out the house quickly.

“Who called kids?”

Roman and Amour led Uncle Jerrick to his girlfriend (who everyone calls her as Auntie Jean), Auntie Jean.

“Oh God Jerrick. Are they breathing at all?!” she panicked.

Uncle Jerrick put his head down as he sat down on the edge of the sidewalk. “No… They’re not breathing… They’ve been dead cold for at least 3 hours, by looking at their violet colored lips.”

Auntie Jean was crying like a maniac and sat down next to Uncle Jerrick; As he held her in his arms.

“Don’t cry Jean… Everything’s gonna be alright… We’ll adopt the kids-…”

“YOU WANT US TO ADOPT THE KIDS?!” she screamed. “I’M NOT READY TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE MY OWN, AND YOU WANT ME TO TAKE CARE OF THEM?!”

“Well.. Think about it. Where can the kids go? Huh? Tell me where the hell they can go!”

As Jean and Jerrick kept arguing about the kids, Roman and Amour just looked at them and started crying. Shocked with a voice, Amour looked around and said, “Mama?”

10 years later…

“Amour! Mom is calling you!” yelled Roman. The year is 2009, and Roman is 14; while Amour is 13.

“Yeah, yeah! I’m comin’!” After the death of their parents 10 years ago, Roman and Amour have been adopted by their Uncle Passion and their Auntie Cathy. Roman and Amour went to counceling for a bit to try and forget about the dying memory.

“Yeah Ma?” asked Amour.

“Amour, did you finish your homework?”

“Yes Ma. I’m just revising some things for my English story.”

“Alright, we’re going shopping Saturday, your Dad and I. You and Roman want to go?”

“I can’t Ma. I have to hang out with Lihz and my friends at a party.”

“Alright. Go ask your brother for me, then come back down here and tell me.”

“Alright.”

“Some memories are better off forgotten, then kept and remembered”

Especially for you – - SHORT STORY.

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

August 1st, 2009

“Especially for you, I wanna let you know what I was going through. All the time we were apart, I thought of you. You were in my heart, my love never changed…” I glanced at the moon above my head as I listened to my iPod in the silent darkness of the night. So many thoughts went through my mind. Like how summer went by so fast; summer love, summer hate, summer shopping, all of it. I wonder how JohnJohn is doing. My so called, “Summer Love”. I can’t wait till I go see him again. He’s so adorable! How he laughed, how he smiled, how he held me, and especially how he loved me…

August 1st, 2009

“Now that I’m next to you, no more dreamin’ about tomorrow, no more loneliness and sorrow, I gotta say, it’s all because of you…” I can’t believe I’ve been given a chance to love her, now I threw it all away because I had to move back to stinking LA. I’m currently writing a letter to her. Here, it goes like this. My dearest Lynn, I can’t imagine how I can tell you I miss you… I’m hoping to go back up there soon, please don’t change. I promise to wait for you Lynn. You’re always in my mind, my heart, and my soul…

August 3rd, 2009

“I can’t imagine life without you my dearest, please. Stay safe and I’m always there with you mentally. ALWAYS. Love, JohnJohn.” I held the letter close to my heart and sighed sweetly. I gasped so loud I started to cough because of it. “AN IDEA!” I yelled out loud. “I have an idea! I have an idea!” I started singing as I ran downstairs. I scanned the house as I looked for my mom, “MOM?! WHERE ARE YOUUUU?!” I yelled. Surprisingly I didn’t get an answer yet. “Huh? Oh I’m here anak.” I heard her voice come from the kitchen. I ran into the kitchen singing my idea song and my mom started to look at me like I was mental. “Yes Lynn?” I looked at my mom with the most serious face I could make. “What’s with your face? Wait Lynn… I know this face! It’s the, “I HAVE AN IDEA!” face.” Gosh she knows me to well. “How’d you know mom?” She looked at me and started laughing. “HELLLLO?! EARTH TO LYNN!! You were running down the stairs singing your idea song.” Wow… My mom is to smart, hahaha. “Oh right! Hardy har-har. Anyway, my idea is,” “You want to make money to go see JohnJohn? Yeah I’m alright with that. Just make sure you leave on vacation days. I don’t want you missing school. I raised my hands in the air and started screaming, “WHOOOOHOOOO! I’m gonna go see JOHNJOOOOHN!” I guess you can call me mental, but I call myself in love.

August 4th,2009

“JohnJohn Narciza, I demand you wake up this instant right now!” I woke up and saw my sister tugging at my feet like a hungry bull. “BUT IT’S A SATURDAY STEPH. GO BACK TO SLEEP.” My sister looked at me, shrugged her shoulders and left my room. “Jeeze, sister’s these days.” I got up and walked to the bathroom to take my morning pee. After I flushed the toilet, I looked in the mirror. “Grimy, just how I like it.” What was I going to do today? Oh yeah, go shopping with Nick and Bryan. I picked up my sidekick as I walked back to my bedroom. “New text msg.” Huh? Whose number is this? “555-904-0126: Hey johnjohn, goodmorning(:” “who’s this?” I replied. “New text msg.” “Ugh, thanks. Love me, and then forget about me. You’re nice.” Whoa, what the funk? “seriously, who’s this?” “New text msg.” “It’s JAZZ. Ring a bellll? I hope it did -__-‘” OH MAAAAN! OH MAAAAN! “OMG, LYNN! I miss you so much, blahblahblahblahblah! How’d you get my number though?” As I waited for her reply, I took a nice warm…

Shower, I need to take a freaking shower right now. I feel so dirty! I got up and went in the shower and came out smiling. I cannot believe I was texting JohnJohn. My summer love, I missed him so much! “I have my darling ways to talk to you(:“ I replied. Well, I need to put my plan into action. I collected all the money I saved since I was 10 and I ended up with $450.00! Just enough to go see him. “Ring, Ring, Ring, BANANA PHONE!” Oh wait, It’s JohnJohn! I picked up my sidekick as my hand shook nervously….

And my throat getting all dry. “Hello?” She said so sweetly which made me melt. I was so nervous I started sweating like I was working out. “Hey, um Lynn?” I felt my voice quaky. “Yeah?” “I uh, you, uh.. Are you really coming down here?” I waited like I was waiting for my test results. “Yeah, I am. I’m thinking on like… Some 4 day vacation if possible.” YES! YES! I got up, and danced in my room like I was an…

Idiot! He is such an idiot! No wonder why I just love being around him so much. He always makes me smile. We talked and talked and talked as if we’re never getting off the phone. Sometimes I wish I could just move down to LA and live with him. But sucks that I can’t since mom doesn’t want to move and such. It’ll be a hassle, and I mean BIG hassle! I can just imagine the day I see him again. It’ll be just like….

We’re one. We’re now together and happy in LA. Lynn’s parents followed her into living here and we’re now neighbors. See? Long distance love can actually turn into true love. We’re inseparable and together we’ll always be… ONE.

&It’s because of you; I can’t let go

As her tennis shoes squeaked on the tennis court, she was practically yelling at herself in her mind. “Jeeze Jackie! What are you going to do?!? He’s getting involved with these things and you’re not stepping up! What happened to the confident Jackie I know?” “SHUT UP!” Jackie yelled as at herself other students were passing by. “What the heck are you looking at?” she yelled. As they walked away, she mumbled to herself, “Stupid freshies.” “Alright ladies!” the coach said as she blew her shiny whistle, “That’s enough for today! See you all next week!”

As Jackie walked to the locker room, her best friend Lindy came, and walked right beside her. “May I help you Lindy?” asked Jackie. “Okay so listen to my depression if you love me. Josh and I are pretty…. “Blah” right now” she air quoted. “What in the 21st century do you mean by blah?” Jackie stated and walked away. “Gosh, are you grumpy much?” Lindy mumbled under her breath.

Jackie took a shower and changed into her True Religion jeans and striped Ralph Lauren crew neck tee. As her thoughts kept running on, Jackie walked to her car mumbling, “I really need some freaking Pho”, then jumped into her black coupe heading for Pho Phat 2. “…..see you’re like a ghost”, she sang along in her car.

Jackie arrived 8 minutes later to her favorite restaurant: Pho Phat 2. As she got out the car, she heard her some guy calling out her name. When she turned around, nothing or nobody was there, then she kept walking to the beat of her black T-strapped, Steve Maddens. Inside, she spotted her 3 best friends: Richard, Peter, and Lindy. She secretly had a crush on Richard but she never told anyone. “HEY JACKIE!!!” they all said at the same time. “Hey guys” Jackie said, smiling her pearly whites. “Hi Richard” she blushed. “Hey” he smiled.

Richard was wearing some Pigeon SB’s, sagged skinny dark denims, blue suspenders, and a blue LRG shirt. “What’s cooking good looking?” Peter asked as he put his arm around her. “Ugh, relax and get a grip. I’m not going out with you. That’s seriously nasty.” Jackie replied in disgust. Richard got up and said, “Hey guys, chill. Peter, stop and sit the heck down. She’s to pretty enough for you.” After he said that, laughter erupted from the group of friends next to them, while Jackie stood there blushing as red as a tomato.

“Are you guys ready to order?” asked the waiter. “Uh, yes we are” replied Richard. “I’ll have a Chicken Pho” said Jackie. “Oh! Me too,” said Richard. They stared at each other for a while, letting there eyes linger, then turned away blushing and smiling. “Ooooo, looks like we’ve got ourselves the new couple of 2009!” yelled Alvin. “Oh gosh Alvin, please shut up and let them be” stated Lindy. “It’s their business and we have nothing to do with their thoughts of liking anyone, whatsoever.” Jackie leaned towards Lindy and whispered, “Thank you!” and Lindy responded with a wink.

As Lindy and Alvin ordered, Richard and Jackie secretly wrapped their legs around each other’s calves. When the group was finished with their Pho, they paid, got up, and left. “So… Jackie, is it alright if I walk with you to your car? I just want to talk to you for a sec.” “Uh, sure” Jackie said happily. While they were walking to the car, Richard’s heart was pounding. Man, how is she going to react when I tell her I’ve still been doing drugs? I promised her I was going to stop. His mind was starting to get heavy and he felt himself starting to sweat. We’re at the car… It’s time to tell her.

“Um… Jackie, there’s something we need to talk about. Or well, no. Something I need to tell you. Please, I’m sorry and don’t get mad!” “Uh, depends what it is Richard. What’s up though?” Jackie started getting curious as Richard scratched his head and started tearing up. “RICHARD. WHAT’S WRONG?!” Jackie yelled. I can’t do this. I can’t tell her. But… I have too! “Jackie… I broke our promise. The promise about me stopping drugs. I’m still on dope. I’m so sorry Jackie… I…” “NO, YOU MADE A PROMISE TO ME AND BROKE IT. YOU’RE A DISSPOINTMENT RICHARD. I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU.” Jackie yelled. “I’m sorry. I’m trying to stop… But it’s so hard. I think I’m…” “You’re what?” “I’m, I’m…” Richard stuttered, “I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU.” Jackie was surprised and had no idea what to say because of the fact she was filled with love and hatred at the same time.

“If you’re really in love with me Richard, you’ll quit it; FOR GOOD. I’m not going to fall in love with a crack head Richard. If I’m going to be yours, we can’t be together right now with your addiction. It’s doing some serious damage to you Richard. If you can’t even notice that, then see how stupid dope has made you? Don’t even talk to me while you’re doing this. I can’t even stand looking at you anymore!” Jackie turned around and ran back to her car, leaving Richard alone in the cold rain.

First he promises me that he’d stop, second he breaks it, and third… HE’S IN LOVE WITH MEWhen Jackie went into her car, she left the Pho restaurant area immediately without giving Lindy and Alvin a goodbye. She turned on the radio to 106.1 KMEL and started crying as she was driving. …I never knew such a day could come. And I never knew such a love, could be inside of one… As the music continued on, she kept crying and crying.

When Jackie got home, she ran straight up to her room and began her AP homework. “For the love of cookies!” her phone rang. New text message!  She thought. I wonder who it’s from. “New text message from: Lindy. “Chicka, wsup? Where you at and what happened to Richard? He seems so upset.” Sigh…… Jackie replied, “Richard is still doing drugs Lindy. He promised me he’d stop but he didn’t! He seriously broke our promise and it freaked me out. Like it really made no sense to me! Making a promise to me, then breaking it.” Then after Jackie hit “send”, she put down her phone, and got up to walk to the kitchen. Her phone rang. It was Richard! …If I’m afraid to love, If I’m afraid of love, I want to know, Cause if I’m afraid to love, Then how will ever find the one? How will I ever find the one? How will I ever find the one? Jackie just stared at her phone the whole time letting it ring and not picking it up. “One new voicemail” her phone said. “Hey Jackie, it’s me, Richard. I’m here in front of your house. I really need to talk to you.” *ClickOh my gosh. What does he want now? Say what? “Oh baby, I miss you so much!” Ugh, he disgusts me so much.

Jackie thought of it as being considerate when she walked to the front door, ready to open up the door right when she had second thoughts about opening it. Whatever, I’ll just open the freaking door. When she opened the door, Richard’s attention was on the ground, and then he slowly picked his own head up to look at her. He smiled gently with his puppy dog eye, then Jackie’s eyes started watering. “Hey Jackie…” Richard said quietly. “Hey, uh why’d you come here?” Jackie asked. “I seriously need to talk to you. I’m really sorry Jackie. I know I broke our promise but I cannot stand not seeing you, or being there with you for a second. It kills me and it hurts so bad…” Aw, he’s just the sweetest thing! But hold up for a sec. He broke our promise and everything and oh my gosh. He’s still DOING DRUGS. Not good at all. “Richard, do you know how much it hurts to know you’re doing this to yourself? It’s tearing you apart. You seem so different. You’re not that strong, built, athletic, sweet guy I used to know. Now, you’re all boring and just not the same. It hurts to see you like this and everything. It just doesn’t affect you, but other feelings, AND that my feelings toward you may change… Although I seriously don’t want to stop.” Richard’s eyes started watering and he cried with no sound… Just completely soundless. Jackie took a step forward to Richard, wrapped her arms around him, and cried with him in the pouring rain.

The next day after Jackie’s tennis practice, she saw Alvin walking towards the quad with something in a Ziploc bag. What in the world is that? Jackie got curious and followed Alvin to the quad. It’s Richard! What the heck are they doing? She thought to herself. Jackie sees Alvin taking out a Ziploc full of DRUGS. Jackie runs away to her car as soon as she sees that very corruptive scene and cries as she drove home. When she got home, she went straight to the kitchen for some low carb ice cream. As Jackie starts to eat the chocolate ice cream, she hears her phone ringing. She looks at her phone: “Call from… Richard”. That boy is freaking dead in my book. She picks up the phone and was all quiet. “Hey,” “Hey,” she says back. “What’s up Jackie?” “You know what’s up Richard. You freaking lied AGAIN.” She yelled. “Lied about what?! I didn’t lie about anything!” “Oh please Richard, save it for someone you’ll listen to and whatever.” She hung up, cried, and started eating again.

After school the next day, Jackie headed straight for her car. All of a sudden, something covered her face and all she could see was black. She muffled and screamed but the only thing she could hear was herself breathing. “Shut up, and listen to me. Once you see me, do not scream or anything. Listen to me closely.” The mysterious voice disappeared and the blackness went away. She turned to the passenger seat, and she look directly at Alvin. “Alright, listen to me.” He stated to her. “Do not keep snooping around or whatever. Just don’t interfere. If you do, I’ll kill both you, and Richard. You understand?” Is this the same Alvin I know? What the heck? “What’s wrong with you Alvin, why are you doing this to me? What the hell is your problem? I mean, seriously! What’s your problem with Richard? He hasn’t done anything to you! HE’S YOUR BESTFRIEND! JEEZE.” Jackie started crying. She looked at Alvin with so much disgust.

“Okay, I’ll tell you why. I’m just really jealous of him. I mean, look at all this popularity stuff. Jackie, I think I’m in love with you. Since even… Before Richard started liking you! But anyway, whatever. I’m planning on killing him, and if you stop him, I guess I’ll have to kill you too.” Jackie was so surprised, she just let Alvin open the door, and walk away. She had no clue what to do, but to just keep snooping around and find some way to stop him.

2 days later, Jackie couldn’t sleep and took a midnight walk around his neighborhood. Richard was out taking a walk to the corner of Love Boulevard for his own reason. As Jackie was walking, she saw a car with a guy and a girl together with a gun. Jackie looked more closely and saw it was Alvin and Lindy! Oh god, I think Lindy snitched on her to Alvin. Stab backing breeze. She followed the car slowly to Love Boulevard and saw Richard. When the car was just about to stop in front of Richard, Jackie ran in front of him and got shot. Her eyes and everything else turned black.

Richard saw the car drive away and dropped on his knees. He looked at Jackie; his darling, his baby, his everything. He’s done his best to protect her, but he guessed it wasn’t enough. “My baby, Jackie…” Richard started crying as soon as he saw blood flowing and called 911. “911, I have a problem. My friend has been shot. 123 Love Boulevard, please come quickly. It didn’t take a long for the police and everyone to come over since they were close to the little rich town.

They took Jackie and Richard went into the hospital with her. When they took Jackie into the emergency room, he stayed in the waiting room with his parents, and Jackie’s parents, then explained the whole story to them. “I’m sorry everyone… I think this is my entire fault… It’s because I had to meet up with them! I ruined EVERYTHING!” Richard started crying and started a tantrum. “Um, Jackie Granadosin’s family and friends?” the nurse asked. Jackie’s parents stood up and walked to the nurse and said, “Yes?” “I think it would be best to tell everyone at the same time.” So when her parents sat down, the nurse made her announcement, “I’m sorry to say… Jackie has passed away, due to the cost of the amount of blood. She’s lost to much to keep living and it was too late to put more blood in.” Groaning, moaning, and grieving has been put in the room. So much people crying it took a while to have everyone calm down.

It was Jackie’s family who went in first. When they came out, everyone was crying again. It was so hard for everyone to look at her. When Richard went in. he ran to Jackie, and started thinking about all the things they’ve been through. “My God Jackie, I’m so sorry… This is my entire fault.” Richard couldn’t handle it anymore. He ran out the room, out the hospital, to the parking lot, and into his car. He drove to Alvin’s house and started cursing so much.

Richard had second thoughts about it. He knew this was wrong. This whole revenge thing was. The only way he would get his revenge, is by putting them in Juvenile Detention. So Richard drove over to the police station and reported the whole thing. Officers agreed and said they’d be in court by next month. “Till then, Alvin and Lindy, till then.”

Richard was in mourning for a long time. He found nothing the same and it was a pity to see him live the rest of his life like this. He didn’t want to go through therapy because he knew that it’ll only make everything worse. It’ll make him think about it more and more, but that’s what he didn’t want. To keep mourning about the love of his life the rest of the years he’s on earth… And the many years that’ll lead into eternity.

Richard had a hard time the next day. To wake up morning after morning and remembering everything, hurt him. “I think the best thing to do is to move” he said to himself. “I do love Jackie, I really do. But this is ridiculous! I can’t stick to her. I’m only 16 for God’s sake.” So Richard planned out the whole thing and told his parents he’ll be moving to San Francisco, California as soon as possible, and live with his collage-aged cousins. Richard was completely happy, yet torn that he’d have to leave his home town, Seattle, Washington; the place where his memories of Jackie would be left.

The next day (day of Richard’s flight), Richard’s mom gave him a little lecture before he left. “Oh, my anak! You’re getting so old! Soon, I’ll be old and wrinkly. Take care of yourself anak, and please, focus on your studies more then anything else. We want the best for you, and we don’t want you to screw it up. Not just for us, but for yourself too. We love you Richard. Please take care of yourself and try not to keep your mind on her TO MUCH. No matter how much you’d want too. It’s hard to resist, I understand. But you’ve got to move on. Alright anak? We love you.” “Alright mom, I’ll do my best. I’ll keep in touch and everything. Mahal na mahal kita ina at ama.” With those last words, Richard started to board the plane to San Francisco.

In the plane, Richard felt so naucious. He thought to himself, “That’s what you get for not going with your mom or dad anywhere. Psh, always wanting to stay at home; that’s poopie.” Richard started to get tired in the plane and then dreamt peacefully as the music in the plane drifted him to sleep.

“All passengers please stay in your seats as the plane lands. All seat belts be kept on at all times.” Richard woke up to the bumping as the plane as it landed. “Oh gosh, we’re here. New life, new whatever.” He thought to himself. Richard started to wonder around the San Francisco International Airport and saw all these pretty girls walking around. “See?” he thought to himself. “So many pretty girls here, I think I’ll fit in fine.” He went to the luggage pick up and waited for about 7 minutes until all his luggage came. As he was walking towards a café, someone covered his eyes. “HEY! STOP IT! I DEMAND YOU UNCOVER YOUR HANDS OUT OF MY EYES RIGHT NOW!” Then with a chuckle, his two favorite collage-aged cousins: Rowen and Ronald. “Jeeze Richard, you’re just to serious nowadays aren’t you?” his cousins laughed. “Shut up, and help me load my goddamn luggage into the car.” “YES SIR! WE’RE ON IT NOW!” Richard’s cousins started marching to the car with Richard’s luggage. “Sheeze, they can never take me seriously, can they?” he thought to himself. Richard went into his cousins Nissan Skyline 1200 and fell asleep with a jet lag.

“Yo Richard, wake your little Pino butt up.” Richard woke up to the sound of his cousins hoarse voice, When Richard opened his eyes and focused his vision, he saw a huge sign that said, “WELCOME RICHAAAARD DARLING!” As soon as he focused on the sign, he started laughing and turning red. “Hey Richard!” his Uncle Sam said, “come over here. I need to talk to you about settling down here.” Richard walked over to his Uncle Sam and sat down.

Limit? There’s no limit

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

Love to me truly has no other definition except if you have strong feelings for others. Love is all over the world; North America, South America, Asia, Africa, everywhere. You can’t escape the fact that love is all around you. The biggest issue people usually look at is the age differences. In my opinion, it shouldn’t even matter. If they have strong affections for each other, it shouldn’t bug them at all. Love has not limit, and I’m going to explain for you. Just break it down a bit.

Love has no qualities. Love bites you, and when you’re bitten, you start to fall. Not literally fall, but fall in love. It’s like a scar you can never get rid of. Love has sacrifices as well. That’s the first thing people become aware of. Will my parents like him? Will they approve? You panic, you sweat, you worry. However, you shouldn’t. If your parents don’t approve, then they’ll have to live with it. Right? Love isn’t letting you give up that easily.

The sacrifices do hurt. They can leave permanent scars on your heart. They can hurt you really bad. People get jealous, start rumors, so on and so on. Love has it’s reasons and you just need to understand those reasons. When your young, and you can’t ignore the sacrifices that cost with the love your giving, your not truly in love. You’re just stuck with puppy love. Love isn’t truly LOVE until you’re giving the person everything and willing to stay with him or her no matter what. Never waste your love on a worthless person that’ll just cause sacrifices for you.

People will come and go, but love will always be with you. The pain will eventually leave and that’s what’s making your love stronger. The pain is like a test; an object you need to past by. You’ll eventually find that one you love and the sacrifices you’ll learn to take. If you love that person so much and so dearly, you’ll learn how love goes and works it’s way around your emotions, conscience, and heart.

Love has not limits and it has no expectations from you except how to use love. Love will always be testing you. Sacrifices and love come hand in hand. It’s like doing something for a reason. You do that errand for a reason. You live for a reason. And eventually, you’ll learn to love the love of your life for a reason. No matter what, if your in love, don’t let anything get in the way. Just keep your eye on the prize and keep loving him/her as long as you could. Be with him/her through thick and thin. Love and sacrifice comes hand in hand and things will happen in the relationship, believe me. But never let that get in the way.

Finally, a person

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

There is so much behind freedom in our history. Our lives depend on our freedom. Our government is allowing us with freedom. However, our history had our huge glitches. Our biggest freedom problem was when the blacks and whites were separated and treated differently. What our government didn’t understand is that blacks can be intelligent. They took everything for granted and never understood the pain and torture we put them through just because of their color. Their color meant nothing and it still doesn’t matter. In the past, the whites just looked at black people as some alien. The whites took them and tortured them. They punished the blacks for no wrong doing but just because of their looks.

Rebelling was the only thing the blacks could do to save themselves. They had to save their own race. They rebelled because they felt like they needed to be treated as equally as the whites. It wasn’t fair to them that the whites get to live rich lives and blacks have to live in some run down house. Rebelling made the black people feel free. It made them feel like they could do what they wanted to do. However, the white people would always find a way to stop it. But blacks never gave up and they never did until they got their fair share of freedom.

The blacks never let newspaper or others tell them who they were. They just kept their head up and kept on living their lives as of today. They never let the media define what being black meant to them. Although the media talked all the smack (bad stuff) they wanted, the blacks just did what they had to do and that was to fight for their own rights. The blacks taught us that we can fight for our rights and that if we’re really dedicated to it, we’ll earn our reward.

Hitler’s breakdown

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

Hitler. The man everyone feared in Germany. The real man of discrimination. He is the real seed of hell. The lives of the innocent he has taken away. The spirits of the rich living, have died. The jews and innocent people have lost their freedom because of the Holocaust in 1932. 5 million Jews and 6 million Non-Jews have lost their lives trying to take Hitler’s power away. That man was the reason for misfortune and he was the living devil to all. He was a man that demanded for perfection and never accepted what was given to him. He demanded to take over Germany but didn’t like the people in it except for the people that he WANTED to approve? What a strange man I think personally.

He only accepted the people with white skin, blue eyes, and blond hair. This is a question I still ask myself; why did Hitler accept people like that when he didn’t have those qualities as well? It makes no sense at all. He just wanted to suck the life away from the others that deserved it. Hitler was a man of specific qualities. He wanted what he would call, “A perfect nation”. He turned that nation into a cold, heartless year for the rest of the people. They were scared of the man! Didn’t he see that? Did he have a face with no eyes? A heart with no love? A man with no feelings? I guess we’ll have to figure that our with our history of the Nazi’s instead.

The Holocaust. The haunting title, “You cried… You died.” It’s a shame to see Hitler do this. It was and is a shame to even have this in our world history! They couldn’t even cry for the loved ones. I remember one of the men in the video said the soldiers would even come up to someone holding a baby and just shoot them in the mother’s arms. It’s sad to see that happen. That’s a shame to just walk towards someone, taking out a gun, and shooting the most innocent and cutest baby, who has done NOTHING WRONG.

Hitler has made Holocaust one of the worst times of our world history. He has created his own planet of hell. From my 1st entry for the “Diary of Anne Frank”, I wrote a poem that described the hell Hitler made.

“Chills that Rankled the air”
Death everywhere,
Called someone else’s nightmare.
Screaming someone else’s death.
Separated universe,
Full of damp and suffocating air.
Planet HELL, realm of tears,
Bodies roasting with souls going up in flames.
850,000 pairs of shoes,
Represent each prisoner in concentration camp.
Gray is the color of HELL,
With barbed wires surrounding human hearts.
Anger, fear, pain, shock or guilt;
Human bone ash is something they hated.

Final Draft- Carmel the beautiful, Carmel the BOLD

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

It was Spring Break of 2008. Rain or no rain, we still kept our plans. I was sleeping in my Grandma’s house with my Auntie Virginia that time. We were always out the house so it didn’t really matter. However, my auntie and I were on a road trip to Carmel. They said Carmel was a beautiful place to chill especially in the Spring time. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep! GAAAAH! But my auntie said I had to sleep early because we were going to leave early.
The next morning I was so tired! I couldn’t get any sleep. Ugh, my mom stopped by the house around 6:00 my mom looked like a drag and I laughed so hard! Haha, you should’ve seen her!! Anyway, I took my morning and my auntie and I rushed to the car with our luggage. “Jesus Christ Chelsea, why do you need to bring this much stuff when your just gone for 3 days?!?” my mom asked. “Well mother, I always might have accidents or something! You never know. You always have to be prepared!” Then my auntie and mom started laughing like it was suppose to be funny.

While we were in the car on the way to El Cerrito, I thought it was going to be a straight drive to Carmel. But noooo! My auntie and the driver told me that we’re going to take a couple stops here and there. BLAAAH! I wanted to go straight to Carmel! I was so tired in the bus! We made a stop at Oakland. Were I met my new friend Melinda. We didn’t really start talking until the 3rd day actually… BE QUIET!! I know you’re laughing. It was a really long drive to Carmel! I wasn’t sure how long because I wasn’t really looking at the time.

My favorite stop was probably at Cupertino. They had this good Chinese Bakery in Cupertino named, “Sheng Lee’s Bakery”. IT WAS SO GOOD! I MEAN THE CURRY AND BREAD! GAAAAAH! Man, just thinking about it makes me hungry again. I miss the bread. We bought like, 17 for the whole trip and I ate it all within 20 minutes. Jesus, I’m a beast.

I was honestly really bored during the whole trip. I mean, don’t get me wrong, but the scenery was beautiful. I was just really bored because my phone was close to dying etc. etc. Eh, it’s whatever though. I fell asleep until we made it to the motel. It was called, “Silver Surfer”. It was a 5 star. “Not bad at all” I mumbled. As we went inside, it was close to getting dark. That night while my auntie, grandma, and I were in the room, my auntie and I were watching Court TV. They had a show about the Blood and Crips gang. It was a really interesting story actually. While I was watching, I fell asleep.

Yawn… “OH MY GULAY! GET UP ATE! WE’RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR THE BUS!” I ran into the shower and took the fastest shower I could and tried to be clean at the same time. As I got out the shower, I changed as fast as I could. “RUN RUN RUN TO THE BUS CHELSEA!” I sprinted as fast as I could to the bus and told them to wait because of my Grandma. A real slow one. (no offense!) Well, when we finally got to the bus, the driver announced, “WEH AH GOOENG THO THA HURST KASTUL TUHDAY” in his funny Chinese accent. I asked Melinda once he finally translated it in Chinese, “What did he say earlier?” “Haha, we’re going to the Hearst Castle today.” “Oh… Thanks.” I said with a smile. She just nodded. Hm, Hearst Castle.

When we got to Hearst Castle, it was packed! I mean just to get onto the bus. You have to take a bus all the way to the top of Hearst Castle. When we got in line, my auntie was chatting with Melinda’s auntie and mom for a bit. I had my own little convo with Melinda as we were waiting to get our pictures and hop onto the bus.

When I hopped onto the bus, I could’ve sworn this was the only bus I’ve ever seen that was filled with Asians. It was cool, but loud. On our way up the hill they started telling facts about the Castle. It was pretty cool. The owner bought some animals and now there are many of them roaming around. We saw this one shelter that caught my eye. It was brown and wooden. Very simple, yet very eye catchy.

We arrived at the Castle and it was very packed with so many people (as expected). All of a sudden a white guy pops out of nowhere. He says he’s going to be our um, what you call it? Oh yeah. Tour guide and that his name is Bob. HA, Bob. Cool name. We took a tour around the Castle and it was finished in like, 2 hours? Well, I don’t know. Something like that. My favorite place however, was the Neptune Pool (picture of the pool is above the story). It was very pretty! Oh and the indoor pool as well.

On our way back, we almost ran into a Zebra! It was so awesome! A REAL Zebra! Right in front of me! Jesus, I love this place. This was my favorite site before we went to Carmel. Once we got to Carmel, I was eye stunned. It was the most perfect and beautiful place I’ve ever seen in my eyes. Well, so far I mean. Hey! I’m only 12. Anyway, Carmel is like a little town. They had beautiful boutiques and the best restaurants.

When we hiked around Carmel, the wind was blowing in my hair. It was the most perfect place. I can’t really explain how, but it was just breath taking to me. I’ll never regret going to Carmel. It was so beautiful, I guarantee you’ll be coming back for more.

(The Roman indoor pool is on top of the Neptune Pool which is located outside}

Final Draft- No suffering

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

Sigh… Summer of 2008. It’s here. I’ve just finished going shopping with my parents and auntie at the Sun Valley Mall in Concord. It was pretty fun except for the fact we stayed at a bank most of the time-what felt like forever-. I saw my boyfriend for a while and he left before I did. By the time we were finished, we went to A&W. It was so awesome! The food tasted so good.

My auntie however, was feeling a sharp pain and felt sick while we were shopping. After we went shopping, we went straight to the house. In the car I felt funny for some reason. Like, something is going to happen. Not sure what it was though. I was just so clueless and let my hair blow in the summer wind.

When we arrived home, my auntie really needed to take a bad poopie. She had terminal cancer and was using oxygen tanks at that time. Harsh wasn’t it? Anyway, my dad took the wheelchair from the back of the trunk and helped my auntie on it. He pushed her as fast as he could to the bathroom. Once she got to the bathroom my dad left to help my mom get out of the car. As I was walking out to unload the car, I hear, “CHELSEA! COME HERE!” from her tone, my sister and I went back to the bathroom.

“Stay here with me” she said. She held my sisters’ hand through the whole time. For some reason, she fell forward, he face in the chair, and threw up. Not just any type of vomit. She threw up the water that was in her lungs. It was a bad sight. She was coughing and wheezing, I had no clue what to do! I was scared and was panicking. As I was about to walk out the door to call my parents in, I ran into my mom. “What’s wrong Chelsea?” she asked. “ATE VIRGIE!” that’s what woke her up.

She wheeled to her bathroom (it was my parents bathroom my auntie was in) and was starting to panic as well. “DAD! RAMSEY! HURRY UP AND COME HERE!” I was so scared, I ran out the bathroom and towards the living room hallway. I started crying wondering what was going to happen. “She blacked out” etc. etc. etc. That’s all that I was hearing. My dad and my brother but her on our bed, then my dad went on top of her, and tried to pump her heart.

No use. Her lips were turning purple. She was stiff. She was DEAD. I couldn’t believe it and still don’t. I always think that if I could’ve called my parents to help sooner, she wouldn’t be dead. However, I’m happy she’s gone. No more suffering for her. She’s in heaven with God. I never wanted her to suffer in the first place. That’s good. I’ll always love you Ate Virgie. R.I.P (rest in paradise) Virginia Smith July 28, 2008.

Final Draft-First Love

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

My parents are 9 years apart. However, their age difference never stopped them from loving each other this much. A lot of people do say things, but to them, “it’s whatever”. They have so many things in common it’s hard for them NOT to love each other. Well, the story of Evelyn Yu Salditos and Rony Salazar Banaria is my story to tell.

My parents were neighbors in Tondo Manila, Philippines. They went to the same school however, different grades. Their parents weren’t exactly, “close”. However, they knew each other. My mom told me that she had a crush on my dad since 7th grade! WOOOOAH. That’s pretty long!

My mom said she kept seeing my dad walk back and forth from where ever he may be coming from because he was, “all over the place”. When my mom saw my dad, or whenever she saw him, she would always stare at him. Stare at him like he was the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen in her life. Wow, cheesy huh? Anyway, she’d always snap away from him when he caught her glimpse. She said that when they met eye to eye, she’d just look down and pretend she never saw him.

My mom said it started from puppy lovin’ and a crush. As they got older, they got to know each other more. My dad started going up to my mom and talk to her. You know, when people want to get to know you, they’d start talking to you? Yeah. Like that. In November, 1980, my mom left the Philippines with all my aunties and uncles to come here to the U.S. She left my dad! That sucks, doesn’t it? Well, my mom started to write letters (or what I call LOVE letters) to my dad.

They would always send letters to each other and my mom would always be happy when she got letters from my dad. January 1995, my mom went back to the Philippines with my Grandma to take care of things. When she arrived, she was happy to see my dad. After the visit, she came back here and found out she was pregnant! WITH ME! :D HOORAY!

She told my dad about it through the phone and he was surprised. He thought she was just playing around because she didn’t have proof. So my parents got in a fight then she called him back a couple days after the fight then they started arguing again. After a long discussion, my dad started to FINALLY believe my mom.

While my mom was going through the 9 month process, she told my dad every single step she was going through. She hid anything from him during that pregnancy. My mom was thinking of 2nd choices. (Ugh, abortions for people that don’t know what I’m talking about!!) My mom said she wanted to abort me because of her paralyzed condition, she thought she wouldn’t be able to take care of me without my father being there, to help support her.

However, my godfather Ron, was a counselor for people with disabilities. He was my mom’s best friend and mentor. He helped my mom open up her mind and to continue with her pregnancy. Until I was born, it was a difficult time for her to be pregnant because of her disability. When she was pregnant people couldn’t tell she was pregnant because of her belly. Hahaha. My family wasn’t really supportive with her decision of keeping me.

They just couldn’t believe my mom kept a relationship with my dad because, it wasn’t exactly possible to keep trust with my dad because they knew my dad was a “player”. Well, my mom knew the consequences, and she still went ahead. She did not give a damn. She had a feeling that God will make things right. And she was right. She had me, and here I am. She petitioned my dad here, and they got married on December 26, 2005. Here’s my family. No one can take away what we’ve been through. It’s even true when they say, “First love is always the one you end up marrying.”

Final Draft- My shot

Published by chelseabms under Uncategorized

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI’m going to win this. Jesus, please help me. Last game of the year! As I sit on the white stoned chairs in Daniels Garden, i start to meditate. “Hmmmm…..” very peaceful here in the Garden. “CHELSEAAAAA !!” my team mates yell. “Hmmmm…..” i continue to meditate. “OUCH!” I yell. One of my team mates threw a empty water bottle at me! They start laughing at me very coldly. “HEY! THAT WAS NOT FUNNY GUYS! I WAS MEDITATING!” “Well, at least you finally got out of it; because we’re going to kick some what girls?!?” “HOLY SPIRIT BOOTY!” I smile as we hold hands and say a Hail Mary. That’s my team!
As my team and I walk inside the Holy Spirit Gym, our families, our number 1 supporters, yell, “GO ST.CATHERINE STARS!” they start waving all these banners. “Wow.” I mumbled under my breath. “PRAYER!” coaches from both teams yell. As we all hold hands, we eye only one girl from the other team. Jade… UGH, that girl. We all (sorry for being haters) HATE her. Gosh, she’s the meanie from the other team who thinks she’s all that. UGH, it’s whatever. Pft, wannabe.
“GIRLS! I NEED THE STARTING 5! ANGELICA, KATRINA, CHELSEA, SAMANTHA, AND ARIANNA!” Coach Bacal yells. Us starting 5, got up and jogged quickly to the coach. “Okay, listen up girls. Last game of your 7th grade season. You want to win this, right?” “YES COACH!” we yell in reply. “Alright, but if you want to win, you’ve got to listen. We’re playing man to man defense. You girls know how it goes. Don’t get to close to your man that when she shakes you, you miss her, so the she has a open lane for a follow through. Girls, call who your going to get. Chelsea, you know who you have.” Yes coach, Jade.”
As I look at her, I look at her with, well… Not hatred. More like a “Ew” look. TWEEEEET! Refs whistle. “We got this on lockdown girls. Count on 3, LOCKDOWN! !,2,3.” “LOCKDOWN!” As our team gets ready for the man to man defense during jump ball, Jade looks at me with this, “you’re going DOWN Banaria” look. I give a grin to her and look at Katrina do a Jump Ball with Jade. SNAP! They got the ball. I run in front of Jade as she tries to shake me with her whatever moves.
I look at her like, “you’re moves are not cool”. As she looks a me, I look at her. She tries to shake me then, BOOM! I caught that ball, ran to our court and did my “Chicken” lay up. As the game goes, we ended up tying at 40-40 by the 4th quarter. When Jade tries to shoot a 3, she misses. When I go in for rebound, Ref called, “FOUL ON BLUE 27!” YES! I get to do free throw.
Then the Ref said to me, “Hey young lady, 3 shots on you. Miss 2 you’re fine. Get the 3rd, and your good in victory.” “Thanks Ref Randy” then I shoot him a smile. “3 shots! 3 shots for Red 27!” Everyone goes in their squares. Red, Blue, Red, Blue on both sides. It’s like I can hear coach whispering to me how to shoot my first shot. Square up to the net Chels. Elbow by face. It’s not hard to learn! When I look at coach, he smiles. “Okay, I got this.” I mumbled under my breath.
Swish! Everyone claps. Gr, 1st one down, 2 more to go. As I get ready to do my second one, Swish! GAAAAAH! 3rd one left!!! Whew, Chels, don’t panic. You got this. I shoot it oh so beautifully. SWISH! YES!! “WHOOO! GO CHELSEAAAAAAA!!!” everyone sings. I laugh and smile. Best game ever! As they all got out the gym, the parents announce, “in favor of all of us, and for the victory of our children, MOUNTAIN MIKES!” I laugh so hard, I roll in the perfect cut grass of the school. My most memorable, favorite, and special game of my life.
