Brown Eyed Blues – FINAL
Brown Eyed Blues
By: Chelsea Lynn Banaria
Jazz Nguyen was at Lindy Pham’s house, giving her a makeover. “Hm… You look like a monster, and I’m sorry to call you my friend.” Lindy looked at Jazz with puppy dog eyes.
Jazz made a straight face and said, “Hey Lindy. Haha, I’m just kidding! I promise.”
Jazz grabbed her hand, led her to her 2009 C6 ZR1 Chevrolet Corvette, and they were off to the Stoneridge mall. When they arrived, they were both eager to go into the famous makeup store, “MAC”. When they arrived at the store, they both argued about what makeup to buy.
The car ride home to Jazz’s house was quiet. When they got out the car, Lindy’s eyes became wide.
Jazz looked at Lindy as if she’s never seen such a big house before.
“Lindy.. Are you okay? You look kind of… Mental right now.”
Lindy cocked her eye to Jazz and said, “I just didn’t know your house was this big! I knew it was big.. But just… Not like this!”
Before Jazz could answer, she ran into the house as fast as she could. Next thing you know, Lindy looked down from the bathroom balcony and said, “Jazz, are you coming or what?!”
Jazz smiled up at Lindy and said, “Yeah, I’ll be right up.”
Jazz then ran into the house and ran up the stairs. When she got to the foot of her bedroom door, she saw Lindy standing in front of it with her mouth open.
“Is this your parents room?” asked Lindy.
“No, it’s not. It WAS their room. They wanted to keep my old room because I had more things that needed storage, more then they did.”
Lindy then gasped in shock. “Oh my gosh! My parents would never let me have a room this big! Hurry up! Let’s go in!”
Lindy grabbed Jazz by her hand and led her into her own room. Inside, the walls were white as a Japanese Cherry Blossom. The room was decorated with an Urban and Modern touch to it. Her bed was about a king or queen size, as her bed sheets were Zebra printed. When they went to her “bathroom”, it looked more like the size of a salon!
“Is this where we’re going to fix my makeup?” asked Lindy.
“Yeah, it is actually. Sit down, so I can get an early start on you.”
Lindy sat down and Jazz worked on her hair and makeup for about… 5 hours or so? Anyway, when she was finished, Jazz felt really accomplished with what she did.
“Lindy, I think your gonna like it.”
“For real?” Lindy smiled.
“Yeah.”
Then Jazz whirled Lindy so she’s facing in front of the mirror, like they did to Amelia in Princess Diaries.
“Oh shoot!” Lindy started to exaggerate like she just saw Kid Rainen in person.
“I don’t even freaking recognize myself anymore! Thanks so much. Oh shoot, I can’t wait ’till we go back to Central High this year.”
Jazz smiled and said, “Yeah. Me neither. Go get a good night rest so we can fix you up tomorrow. Your sleeping over at my house until I know I can trust you enough to do your own makeup and everything. Alright?”
Lindy nodded while grinning and replied, “Alright, I’ll call my parents.”
Lindy ran our the room and called her parents to drop off everything at Jazz’s house.
The next day, back at Central High, Jazz and Lindy first went to the office to go pick up their schedule’s for the year. Oh and before I forget, Jazz is a Senior and Lindy is a Junior. Anyway, when they went into the office, they see a really cute guy. About 6′0 tall, Filipino (yeah, he is), pretty good fit, and a cute smile.
“Here’s your schedule for the year. And before I forget, welcome to Central High!”
The Secretary gave him a pearly white smile and said, “Next!”
Jazz and Lindy were to distracted by his charm, they forgot she even said anything.
“I SAID NEXT PLEASE!”
Jazz and Lindy were then shocked and moved forward to the woman. They got their schedules and left the office. They had no clue, whatsoever to where their classes were, because of the busy summer. It kept them occupied and they forgot everything that went where it was suppose to be at school. They also hoped that someone would help them figure out where their classes are.
“Uh, hey. I’m Jay, and uh. I’m suppose to be helping you guys right now to your class, or classes. Haha, depending how well you remember the school.”
Jazz and Lindy giggled and smiled at Jay.
“Yeah, I’m Jazz and that’s Lindy. Nice to meet you Jay!”
“Yeah, nice to meet you too.”
They shook hands and started discussing where their classes are suppose to be.
“P-4 is up there and-… Uh, Jazz? Are you alright?”
“Huh? Oh yeah, sorry. I was looking at your hat. It’s cute.”
“Oh haha. Silly old Kid Robot. She grabs everyone’s attention before they look at my face. Anyway, hey. Lindy, I think you got it. I guess I’ll see you at lunch?”
“Sure. Thanks,” Lindy said to Jay.
“No problem” answered Jay.
Jay started liking Lindy just because the way she acted and how she was towards him. They got to know each other more and they liked each other. Jay asked Lindy to be his girlfriend after the first couple of weeks knowing her and she said yes. They go out with each other for a while, then he starts to get to know Jazz. He thought she was pretty cute and went to go know her more and more everyday. When he did, he started liking her personality more than Lindy’s. He thought Jazz was more energetic like him so he started having feelings for Jazz. As he got to know her more, he realized that Jazz was the one for him. Jazz had feelings for Jay but no one knew about it because she kept a secret about it. The only place that she expressed her feelings was in her diary where only she could see. One day, it accidentally got into the hands of the jealous Lindy. Lindy found it, so she read all the entries Jazz wrote about how much she liked Jay. Lindy got super jealous and threatened Jazz that she will ruin her reputation at school until she graduates high school. Jazz was so scared. Lindy talks to Jay about it, to see if it’s true. Jay acts like what Jazz is saying is silly but deep down inside he really does care about Jazz. He could not take it anymore because he realized that he needs to be with Jazz so he broke it off with Lindy. After all that happened, he went to talk to Jazz about how he felt about her. He was scared because he thought that Jazz did not have any feelings for him but she did.
Jay asked her, “Jazz, would you be my girlfriend?”
Jazz replied, “Of course I will Jay.”
When Lindy found out that they started dating she went ballistic. She was so angry. Lindy starts screaming at school.
Lindy yells, “WHY?! WHY?!”
Lindy finds out and tries to ruin their perfect relationship and school reputation. Lindy tries everything but nothing won’t work because they are still together strong as ever. Finally, they finished high school and Lindy is still trying to wreck their relationship Jazz and Jay have together.
Although, Lindy tries to break them apart Jazz and Jay decide to get married after a few years they just graduated. After they just got married, they heard that their long time enemy from high school Lindy was found killed last night. They were both shocked. All though they did not get along with Lindy, they questioned, “Who would do such a thing?”
Jazz and Jay both went the Grand Canyon to check up on some rocks and stuff since that was there thing to do on weekends. When they got down there, they saw a body but they did not know whose body it was. When they went to check up on the body, it was Lindy’s. When they found her body her eyes were wide open. Jazz and Jay guessed that she died with her eyes open, sadly. Jazz went to look at Lindy’s eyes real fast and when she did she thought she saw Lindy’s eye roll. But Jay said she is just hallucinating. She said, “Yeah, you’re right. She’s gone; her eyes can not be rolling around like she is alive.”
They went back home to relax after the hectic day they had. That night, Jazz had a dream. The dream was about her killing Lindy. She realizes that she was the one that killed Lindy but she had told no one and there was no evidence found when she pushed Lindy off. When she woke up she thought that it could not be true. Later on days has passed and she has been getting the worse luck of all. She was thinking, “Karma is getting back to me, Lindy is getting me, my husband Jay, and my family. What should I do?”
After hours and hours of thinking she narrowed it down to two choices. It was either Jazz killed herself and be done with everything or live her life like nothing happened and let Lindy haunt her and her family whenever she feels like it. She decided to live a couple of more years because she wanted to finish up her degree and become a doctor with her husband Jay. During those years she was in college, she had some bad feelings because she thought Lindy was going to haunt her and her family because of her temper back in high school. But when she went to school for all those years to finish up and becoming a doctor she did not have anyone come haunt her. She graduated from collage and is officially a doctor with Jay.
They open up this small hospital in the corner of their neighborhood; just in case someone is injured they can help them. When they first opened, Jazz had some trouble with the hospital since she was running it alone. Jay was busy that day to be there on the opening day of the hospital. Ever since that day of bad luck with the opening of the hospital, Jazz had memories of her killing Lindy by pushing her off the Grand Canyon.
Jazz had so much guilt every time she went to work and home. She felt like Lindy was haunting her but it was just all in her head. Jazz could not take it anymore so Jazz decided to kill herself because she felt that she was too guilty of Lindy’s death. Jazz thought to herself before she killed herself, “Without all these guilt trips, making me go insane, now I know I am going to be happier without all the guiltiness I had for all these couple of years.”
She killed herself the next day. Jay found her lying there dead with the knife in her hand. He was sad and disappointed because they have been lovers ever since high school and knowing that his high school lover died he was not happy anymore. He shut down the hospitals and companies he had. He took a knife and killed himself too just so he can be with Jazz. That’s how much Jay loved Jazz because he killed himself to be with her even though he secretly knew that Jazz killed Lindy but did not tell anyone at all either. He just kept everything a secret because he knew that if he brought up the Lindy death, Jazz and him would just argue the whole time.
Sadly, the next morning, Jazz and Jay’s kids, Roman and Amour walked in the room, looking at their parents DEAD. Not knowing about 911 (Roman was 4 and Amour was 3), they called their Uncle Jerrick. “Uncle Jerrick! Mommy and Daddy!” They screamed on the phone.
“What about your Mommy and Daddy?”
“They no breathe!”
Knowing Uncle Jerrick, he understood the kids perfectly. Silent he was on the phone, and he hung up. As for Roman and Amour, they left their parents room, and cried while waiting for their Uncle Jerrick to come over.
“Kids! I’m here! Where’s Mommy and Daddy?”
They led Uncle Jerrick upstairs to their parents room. Uncle Jerrick, as sad as he was said, “Oh my God… Jazz… Jay…” He suddenly remembered to call 911 and he heard the police and ambulance out the house quickly.
“Who called kids?”
Roman and Amour led Uncle Jerrick to his girlfriend (who everyone calls her as Auntie Jean), Auntie Jean.
“Oh God Jerrick. Are they breathing at all?!” she panicked.
Uncle Jerrick put his head down as he sat down on the edge of the sidewalk. “No… They’re not breathing… They’ve been dead cold for at least 3 hours, by looking at their violet colored lips.”
Auntie Jean was crying like a maniac and sat down next to Uncle Jerrick; As he held her in his arms.
“Don’t cry Jean… Everything’s gonna be alright… We’ll adopt the kids-…”
“YOU WANT US TO ADOPT THE KIDS?!” she screamed. “I’M NOT READY TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE MY OWN, AND YOU WANT ME TO TAKE CARE OF THEM?!”
“Well.. Think about it. Where can the kids go? Huh? Tell me where the hell they can go!”
As Jean and Jerrick kept arguing about the kids, Roman and Amour just looked at them and started crying. Shocked with a voice, Amour looked around and said, “Mama?”
10 years later…
“Amour! Mom is calling you!” yelled Roman. The year is 2009, and Roman is 14; while Amour is 13.
“Yeah, yeah! I’m comin’!” After the death of their parents 10 years ago, Roman and Amour have been adopted by their Uncle Passion and their Auntie Cathy. Roman and Amour went to counceling for a bit to try and forget about the dying memory.
“Yeah Ma?” asked Amour.
“Amour, did you finish your homework?”
“Yes Ma. I’m just revising some things for my English story.”
“Alright, we’re going shopping Saturday, your Dad and I. You and Roman want to go?”
“I can’t Ma. I have to hang out with Lihz and my friends at a party.”
“Alright. Go ask your brother for me, then come back down here and tell me.”
“Alright.”
“Some memories are better off forgotten, then kept and remembered”
To Be Continued…

I’m going to win this. Jesus, please help me. Last game of the year! As I sit on the white stoned chairs in Daniels Garden, i start to meditate. “Hmmmm…..” very peaceful here in the Garden. “CHELSEAAAAA !!” my team mates yell. “Hmmmm…..” i continue to meditate. “OUCH!” I yell. One of my team mates threw a empty water bottle at me! They start laughing at me very coldly. “HEY! THAT WAS NOT FUNNY GUYS! I WAS MEDITATING!” “Well, at least you finally got out of it; because we’re going to kick some what girls?!?” “HOLY SPIRIT BOOTY!” I smile as we hold hands and say a Hail Mary. That’s my team!
